Through his eponymous brand, Rhion Romany, he has released chic resort wear collections, bespoke bridal gowns, and trendsetting Monday wear. He has also outsourced his talent to leading local, regional, and international carnival bands to produce some of the most coveted costumes on the road.
Inspired by the contemporary Caribbean lifestyle, Rhion’s creations are an effortless blend of island vibes and metropolitan flair. His looks have been donned by celebrities and masqueraders alike, gracing red carpets, stages, and parade routes worldwide. In fact, it’s safe to say his famous ЯR signature has developed a cult-like following—with brand evangelists known as ЯRoyals anxiously awaiting the release of his latest line to add to their collection.
Rhion is intent on fulfilling his mission to deliver chic refinement in every area of design he touches. In his first year as a SPIRIT designer, he debuted with the show-stopping Sylph and Akasha, followed by Argyle and Fortress in 2025. Now in his third year, he continues to raise the bar with Zuri and Jian Ji—two powerful designs that fuse elevated fashion with Carnival’s unmistakable energy.
Her storied career as a costume designer spans two decades, during which time she has worked with some of the top carnival bands in the world. From consultancy and creative direction to costume design and production, she has been involved in almost every aspect of mas-making.
Creating pieces that perfectly capture feminine strength and sensuality is her calling card reflected not only in her costumes but also in her festival wear line, SandisAngels. Always one to push the envelope and test boundaries, her maverick approach to costuming has earned her the respect of her peers and the admiration of masqueraders worldwide.
Sandra has brought that dynamism and versatility to SPIRIT Mas from inception with La Luz, Botanica, and Treya (a collaboration with fellow designer, Nakita Hyatali). This year, she continues to shape the future of mas with Xería and Mélange, both powerful fusions of culture, movement, and texture.
Mentored by his mas-making parents and apprentice to industry icons such as Roland St. George, Brian Mac Farlane, and Peter Minshall, he made his costuming debut at 16-years-old. By 19, he had begun learning the art of wire bending from the masters and gradually expanded his expertise to include 3D foam aesthetics and sculpting. Now, two decades years later, he’s the quintessential mas man—producing his own costumes and influencing trends that continue to shape the industry.
His extensive portfolio includes designs for groundbreaking local and international Carnival bands, with high-profile personalities such as Nicki Minaj, Amber Rose, and several Miss Universe contestants. Beyond the realm of Carnival, Douglas has also contributed to global projects with brands like Macy’s and Disney. Currently, he serves as a creative director, co-shareholder, and designer for several international bands.
A SPIRIT designer from day one, Douglas has brought us Naiad, Nova, and Dimanche. This year, he returns with Nura—a bold look that fuses colour, movement and structure. He also crafted the backpacks for Bravía and Jian Ji, continuing his mission to leave a lasting mark on the Carnival landscape.
Canadian-trained in fashion arts and further skilled in design and pattern making in Trinidad, her career began with her first carnival design in 2015. She has since created stunning costumes and directed productions across Jamaica, Barbados, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, and London.
Nakita excels in photoshoot and video styling, creative direction, and managing franchise storefronts. Her work includes collaborations with renowned names like Meiling and Anya Ayoung Chee, as well as globally recognised carnival bands.
As the founder of Kitanilly Designs, Nakita’s clothing brand is celebrated for its luxurious, ready-to-wear resort wear. Her career reflects her entrepreneurship, adaptability, and creativity—qualities that have made her a leading figure in both the fashion and carnival industries.
She made her SPIRIT Mas debut in 2025 with Bréa, a striking tribute to the iconic Pitch Lake, and Treya, a collaborative piece inspired by the colours and culture of our forefathers.
This year, Nakita returns with two stunning sections: Versailles and Mayura—both rich with elegance, detail, and theatrical flair. With her signature blend of fashion-forward vision and production expertise, she continues to raise the bar for modern mas.
An alum of the Fashion Institute of Technology, he has successfully leveraged his bachelor’s degree in Fashion Business Management, as well as his training from the esteemed Professor Andrew Ramroop, to create his eponymous clothing line, Levi Marcus. Now, he’s making his mark as a carnival costume designer.
Recognised as much for his business acumen as his ability to create aspirational, fashion-forward products, Levi has forged his own path. To date, he has secured partnerships with major players such as Machel Montano and Ten To One Rum. His designs have also been worn by a slew of local, regional, and international celebrities—including Ciara, Rebel Sixx, and Kes.
Beyond the world of fashion, Levi is a self-proclaimed carnival junkie and a passionate advocate for the masquerader experience. As a member of the SPIRIT design team, he specializes in sustainable costumes for men. He made his debut with the iconic all-male section Balos in 2024 and raised the bar in 2025 with Battalion.
This year, Levi continues to redefine male mas with Mayura and Jian Ji, two costumes that strike the perfect balance between function, fashion, and festival.
An apprentice of legendary mas-maker Roland St. George, Kriston masterfully blends unconventional materials with bold, imaginative design to bring costumes to life. He consistently pushes the boundaries of what’s possible - an approach that has earned him a reputation as a true trailblazer in the industry.
His creations have lit up the streets of carnivals across the Caribbean and beyond, from Trinidad and Grenada to St. Lucia, Miami, and Toronto’s Caribana.
Kriston made his SPIRIT debut in 2025 with Gasparee, a breathtaking tribute to the natural wonder of the caves. This year, he returns with Carmen, a powerful portrayal of rhythm, strength, and style. With his signature flair and fearless attention to detail, he’s once again delivered a costume that’s nothing short of breathtaking.
With a background spanning production design, photography, and creative direction, Annaixe has translated her passion for detail and form into unforgettable costume design. Her work reflects an intuitive understanding of the human body and an artful eye for shape, texture and movement, resulting in pieces that are as impactful as they are wearable.
Her creative influence has touched fashion, film and stage, but mas holds a special place in her heart. For Annaixe, designing for SPIRIT represents a dream fulfilled: the chance to bring her vision to life in the Mecca of Carnival - Trinidad.
This year, she makes her SPIRIT debut with Bravía, a fiercely feminine portrayal of power and passion. Unapologetically daring, richly adorned, and exquisitely constructed, Bravía reflects Annaixe’s commitment to storytelling through style, and marks an exciting new chapter in her design journey.
Originally trained in the culinary arts, his path shifted unexpectedly during casual creative gatherings with some of Trinidad’s leading Carnival designers. What started as friendly meetups assisting with tasks like cutting materials, quickly evolved into full-scale production work alongside names like Shawn Dhanraj, Natalie Fonrose, and David Dewer. These hands-on experiences sharpened his skills and ignited a passion for design that would define his next chapter.
Kalester made his official debut for Trinidad Carnival 2024, and it wasn’t long before his talent caught the attention of regional creatives, including Lyndon Langdon of Oro Luxury, who brought him on as a designer for Grenada's Spice Mas.
Now, Kalester proudly calls SPIRIT Mas home. A team that, in his words "loves, supports, and protects" his dreams. Next carnival he brings his unique creative voice to the road with stunning backpack designs for Zuri and Versailles.
His passion for mas began at just five years old, when he first witnessed a Peter Minshall production on television and knew instantly that was his calling. By sixteen, Aaron was fully immersed in the world of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival, learning the craft from the ground up and eventually working alongside legends like Wayne Berkeley and Minshall himself.
At eighteen, he moved to London, where he became the lead designer for South London's Oval House Carnival band. His work took him across Europe, introducing international audiences to the vibrancy of Caribbean Carnival arts.
Returning to Trinidad at twenty-four, Aaron refined his skills under Wayne Berkeley and deepened his connection to the tradition of mas-making. Over the years, his innovative approach to materials, silhouette, and structure has earned him a place in over 35 Carnival productions worldwide.
Today, Aaron is the designer that other designers call for collaboration, guidance, and technical expertise. His reputation is built not on hype, but on decades of excellence, creative integrity, and craftsmanship.
Now a proud member of the SPIRIT Mas design team, Aaron brings a deep respect for heritage and a bold vision for the future. With a focus on unconventional materials and cutting-edge forms, he continues to help shape a new silhouette for Carnival - one that honours the past while looking fearlessly ahead.

Emma honed her skills under the mentorship of the revered carnival designer Douglas John. Guided by the belief that the sky is the limit, Emma continues to evolve within the creative space of designing and producing costumes, paving the way for aspiring creatives in the carnival industry.
In 2026, Emma makes her official design debut with SPIRIT Mas, collaborating with Douglas John to create the feather work for the section "Bravial" a costume that bursts with energy, color, and bold flair.
